About us
The Natural Resources Conservation Board (NRCB) is Alberta's regulatory agency for natural resource developments and confined feeding operations. The NRCB reports to the Minister of Sustainable Resource Development. Its mandate is balanced decision-making in the public interest. The NRCB works to ensure that Alberta's natural resources are developed in a socially, economically and environmentally responsible manner.
Established in 1991 through the Natural Resources Conservation Board Act, the NRCB became responsible for regulating confined feeding operations under the Agricultural Operation Practices Act in 2002.
