Board decisions under AOPA

If requested to do so by a directly affected party, the board may review the decision of an NRCB approval officer.  Operators may also request that the board review the requirements of an enforcement order issued by an NRCB inspector. Reviews are usually public hearings, but the board can also use mediation, meetings or written reviews. Public hearings are held near the proposed project, and most hearings are concluded in one day.
